Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School has a great week August 13-17.  We averaged about 57 children and 20 teachers and helpers each day.  Our theme was “Sonrise National Parks.”    The children learned a daily promise each day through words and singing: True Peace, True Riches, True Power, True Love and True Hope.
We had great singers every day.  This year we also used the music DVD that came with our program.  Many of us had the song “A Cool Cool Summer” in our heads for awhile.  The children did a really great job with the actions.  We had many delicious snacks each day.
The offering we received each day was used to buy school supplies for a student that we adopted from the Hilltown Resource Center.  Also, we were able to give three gift cards.  The closing program was held at noon on the last day of VBS.  The classes presented skits and sang their favorite songs they learned hat week.  As the program ended everyone headed outside for a picnic lunch.  We were pleased that about 120 people enjoyed the picnic and Stewarts provided us with ice cream sundaes.
Thank you to all who helped support VBS through monetary contributions, supplies and prayers.  It was a very successful week.

Service at Thacher Park

We had absolutely beautiful weather for our last joint service of the summer at Thacher Park.  It was attended by many and we had some amazing musicians come and play for us.

Fire Drill

On August 20th, volunteers from Knox, Berne, East Berne, Schoharie, Altamont and Guilderland Center Fire Departments participated in an evacuation fire drill at Knox Reformed Church.

Save the Date!

Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 9:00am a joint worship service will be held with Knox Reformed Church and Thompsons Lake Reformed Church.  The service will be held at the Thacher Park Overlook.  This will be our final joint worship for the summer.  Come join in for worship in the great outdoors, taking in the beauty that God has made and Mother Nature has tewaked.  This unique service will help us say goodbye to our wonderful summer and usher in our crisp fall days.  Remeber to bring a lawn chair for comfort.
